Poplar Grove Plantation in Wilmington, North Carolina was the destination for over 190 classics as they descended on the property underneath the Live Oaks to participate in the 2008 Classy-Chassis Car Show. A mid-morning thunderstorm sent folks looking for cover for about 30 minutes, but as soon as the rain passed, the cars and trucks were detailed to perfection and the sun shined off the custom paint and chrome for the rest of the day.
The cars were joined by a country flea market, and food vendors. This classy event concluded with an awards ceremony that consisted of the 50/50 drawing, presentation of the top 75 plaques, award trophies, and show sponsor recognition.
The Poplar Grove Plantation Classy-Chassis car show is held in a beautiful location and is very well organized with the enthusiast in mind. This event is a favorite among the local car clubs as proven by the clubs who participated as a group. The Poplar Grove Plantation is on its way to setting the benchmark for classic automobile events in the region, if it hasn’t done that already. This event is growing each year, and there are few reasons if any, why this trend won’t continue.
Carsolina thanks the participants, spectators, and the staff at Poplar Grove Plantation. This was really a Classy event.
