Lowe’s Motor Speedway hosted the 15th Southeastern Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina this past weekend. It is one of the many events organized by the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association and is open to vehicles 1972 and older.
The racetrack is home for a few thousand hot rods, street rods, and customs for three days each October. A large swap meet and car corral is also part of the affair. This year, rain poured Friday and continued Saturday morning with a steady drizzle. By early after noon, the sun broke through and ended any threat of rain for the remainder of the weekend.
The highlight of the weekend came Saturday evening during the track cruise. Participants were given the opportunity to take their vehicles out on the racing surface under the lights and cruise on the NASCAR speedway at highway speed or better.
Carsolina thanks the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association and those who participated in the 15th Southeastern Nationals displaying some very nice automobiles.
