V-8s and V-Twins rumbled together in a charity poker run on May 23, 2009 to raise money for children. The non-profit, Brunswick County Motorcycle Enthusiasts, organized this Memorial Weekend event in an effort to raise money for underprivileged children in the Southeastern North Carolina County.
Participants registered at Riverside Park in Shallotte, North Carolina and then headed on a police escorted poker run with three stops along the way. Local and county law enforcement officers held traffic so participants could remain as a group from Shallotte to Calabash, through Ocean Isle Beach, and back to Riverside Park.
Once back at the park, the best and worst hand were rewarded with prizes and lunch was donated by Pa’s Grill. Direct Message played the rest of the afternoon and a 50/50 drawing concluded the event.
