The South Eastern North Carolina Mustang Club hosted the 11th Annual All Ford Car & Truck Show on October 17, 2009. The cool morning started with clouds over Wilmington, North Carolina but the sunshine would not be denied and broke through by noon and the show was in full swing at Capital Ford.
With strong club participation from clubs like the Stangs R Us Mustang Club and the Wide Open Throttle Mustang Club the 11th Annual All Ford Car & Truck Show was dominated by Mustangs.
Pony car enthusiasts with no club affiliation also helped add to the numerous Mustangs on the premises with models from the first edition through the most recent 2010 Ford Mustang models. One example of the legendary blue oval name plate, was a sharp 1979 Ford Mustang Official Pace Car commemorating the 63rd running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 27, 1979.
Mustangs were not the only Ford Motor Company products in attendance. A clean black 1949 Ford in near stock form excluding the addition of a set of exhaust headers on the flathead V8 engine and wide-white radials cruised to the event. A timeless piece that came out of the state of Maryland three years ago. It was in the care of the current owner who was finishing up the final pre-judging polishing and shared that he acquired ’49 with a promise to the seller that the vehicle would not be turned in to a hot rod. He has proudly kept his word.
One Ford on hand that demanded the hot rod moniker was this black coupe blanketed with traditional blue tipped flames on the front end. The show also attracted several stout Mercury models and classic pickup trucks too.
In addition to getting Ford fanatics together on a beautiful autumn day and showing off their FoMoCo rides, the 11th Annual All Ford Car and Truck Show was a fund raiser for Step Up For Soldiers.
The organization helps returning veterans in many ways, from home modifications including wheel chair ramps to personal transporters. Step Up For Soldiers had a display and was collecting donations from participants and spectators. The South Eastern North Carolina Mustang Club who put on a wonderful show donated half of the 50/50 drawing to Step Up For Soldiers.

Awesome show! Over 160 cars, great vendors, and very friendly staff. First time I ever ate grape ice cream!
I think it is wonderful when people take their love for hot rods, clubs especially, and have a gathering where you can share your love and also raise money for many foundations.
