October 10, 2009 marked the 3rd Annual Port City Rumble Car Show presented by the Maulers cc of Wilmington, North Carolina. The event featured traditional cars and trucks through 1967. Old school choppers and custom motorcycles joined the party as well as some tricked out bicycles.
The Port City Rumble was held in the streets of downtown Wilmington and had good weather. The traditional creeper races had several exciting heat races leading up to the final death defying drag. After the completion of the creeper race, a few customs got together and put on a flame throwing exhibition to the crowds delight.
Just after the awards the sky opened up and a hard rain fell for thirty minutes. But that didn’t kill the fun, as the Maulers Rumbled the rest of the evening with live bands on tap. This show is getting better every year and many folks that participated in 2008 returned this year with friends.
Carsolina thanks the Maulers cc for their hard work in putting on the Port City Rumble and everyone who put their flats, rats, suede, and chrome on display. See ya next year!
