Spring Toy Run Rumbles To Holden Beach

A few minutes before one o’clock on June 5, 2010, a rumble could be heard near the bridge in Holden Beach, North Carolina. Escorted by Brunswick County Sheriff’s Deputies, a caravan of classic cars, performance machines, and motorcycle riders, cruised across the bridge completing the Spring Toy Run organized by Brunswick County Motorcycle Enthusiasts.

The event included a poker run, inviting motorcycle riders and classic car owners to cruise together for a worthy cuase. Registration was set up at the Shallotte, North Carolina Wal-Mart and the group left from there to go on a police escorted poker run.

Clint & Rick’s 1952 Pontiac Chieftain

Clint drove this 1952 Pontiac Chieftain from Winnabow, North Carolina to Southport, North Carolina on May 2, 2009. The fifty-seven year old automobile was on display during the Cape Fear Cruisers Annual Show. Clint was accompanied by his young son who was standing on the front seat sawing back and forth on the steering wheel, much like a sea captain at the helm of his ship. The young navigator is the Great-Great-Grandson of the lady who bought it in 1955.

Linda’s 1965 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

Since July 17, 1965, Linda has been able to claim this is “My ’65.” She ordered this 1965 Ford Mustang GT through the local dealership in Belmont, NC and took delivery before the tires hit the show room floor.

Cape Fear Cruisers Car Show In Southport, NC

Some of the vehicles registered at the Cape Fear Cruisers car show included a super charged Triumph TR6, Studebaker Commander, International Harvester Traveler, and a Nash Rambler, just to mention a few of the non-Big 3 manufactures that attended this automoible event.
