Ginger’s 1963 Ford Galaxie 500

“I got it last January,” Ginger answered when I asked how long she had been working on it. “It was in fair condition. The original paint was still on there; it wasn’t rusted through too much. Each of the bottoms of the doors had rusted through, and that fender,” she said as she pointed towards the Ford, “I had to make it. It had no trunk channels and I had to make all them. It was eaten through.”

Brenda’s 1930 Ford Model A Murray Touring Sedan

“Jeff looks more like a rat rod owner, more than yourself,” I said to Brenda. “I get that, I get that,” Brenda said bursting into laughter. I added, “So most of the people here are probably going to address their initial question about this car to him.” “They do,” responded Brenda. I asked, “What is their reaction when your husband points at you and tells them that this is yours and you built it?”

Sandra and Her 1965 Mercury Comet GT Caliente

Sandra had some money saved and the 1965 Mercury Comet GT Caliente was in her care a week later. “Billy talked me into it and I ended up paying for it; that’s why I call it mine,” Sandra explained. “So it always has my name when we go to anything. It’s my car. Billy and his brother-in-law had no idea I would buy it.”

Rick’s 1963 Ford Galaxie 500

Rick’s project is a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500. He found “Bertha” on eBay for $800. “Bertha is a 1963 Galaxie 500 four door sedan with a 352 cubic inch engine backed by a Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic transmission. My long term plans are to make Bertha into an unmarked Police/Sheriffs Interceptor.”

Mark’s 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Mark has added another restoration project to his stable in the form of a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1.

Byron’s 1931 Ford Model A Six Shooter

I figure, as many cars as I’ve painted and as many collision repair jobs that I’ve put back together and back on the road, and as many patch panels and other things that I’ve done to cars, and fighting rust my whole entire life, why not have one with a little bit of patina. I’ve waxed enough.

Alice’s Forgotten 1969 Ford Thunderbird

“I see men give me a smile, like yeah, ok, she has a car, and every so often you see the women elbow there husband and whisper, ‘she has a car’. And if you’re that wife go ahead and stab your husband in the ribs and say, ‘hey she has a car.’ And if you want one, get one, and have that sense of pride.”

Northwood Assembly 2nd Car Truck & Motorcycle Show

For those that attended the 1st Annual Northwood Charity Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show in 2008, there were some familiar vehicles that returned for the 2009 edition. One such vehicle was a rare 1941 Ford Panel Delivery belonging to Joe of Whiteville, NC. Joe is entertaining the idea of selling it to persue a 1950 Mercury that has caught his eye.

Johnny’s Custom 1949 Ford Little Big Rig

Originally built to tow a 29 foot toy hauler camper, Johnny thought of just about everything. “I restored a 1978 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. The right side rear fender folds down and ramps slide out and the motorcycle sits sideways behind the sleeper,” Johnny explained.

11th Annual All Ford Car And Truck Show

A clean black 1949 Ford in near stock form excluding the addition of a set of exhaust headers on the flathead V8 engine and wide-white radials cruised to the event. A timeless piece that came out of the state of Maryland three years ago. It was in the care of the current owner who was finishing up the final pre-judging polishing and shared that he aquired ’49 with a promise to the seller that the vehicle would not be turned in to a hot rod.
