I figure, as many cars as I’ve painted and as many collision repair jobs that I’ve put back together and back on the road, and as many patch panels and other things that I’ve done to cars, and fighting rust my whole entire life, why not have one with a little bit of patina. I’ve waxed enough.

Leland Under The Lights
The Leland resident ran out of room on the window card listing all the trick features on this hot rod. The ‘23 is powered by a 2003 Baja Boat 6.2 liter Mercruiser engine, breathing through a cross ram intake manifold and dual carburetor setup that had been in storage for 40 years. The 415 horse power producing combination moves the body that has been stretched 12 inches and sits on a homemade frame through a Tarentola Hydro manual shift 350 transmission. A Speedway Engineering quick change rear end out back turning the big Hoosier Racing tires, and reversed Corvair steering with sprint car steering arms out front, anchor the four disc brake calipers.
Leland Under The Lights Car Show Turns Five
Starting off with a few dozen vehicles in the shopping center off Village Road in Leland, the event has grown and is now held off Hwy 17, in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Attracting an estimated 300 vehicles and 3,000 spectators, the 5th Annual Show started forming hours before the official 5pm start time.
