The man asked Linda “This is a Terraplane isn’t it?”
After his inclination was confirmed he replied, “Is this by chance the car that belonged to the guys that worked on the dairy farm?”
Linda answered, “Yes it is.”
“I have put many a bag of groceries in that car when I was a teenager,” the man declared.
Linda laughed and responded, “Well, there won’t be any groceries delivered in it now.”

Myrtle Beach Wheels At The Beach Car Show

Over 200 hot rods, classics, muscle cars, antiques, and unique vehicles parked along Farrow Parkway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and participated in the event. Corvette, Chevelle, Mustang, Monte Carlo, and Camaro, were some of the usual suspects that were in the lineup. Two of the names that are less common that were also represented at the 2009 Wheels At The Beach Car Show were Hudson and Austin Healy.

Jim’s 1965 Dodge Dart GT

Jim found this all original 1965 Dodge Dart GT in Florida and brought it back to Rock Hill, South Carolina. The original owner purchased the car in late fall of 1964 and treated the car with care, keeping it in a garage out of the elements when it wasn’t in use. Seventy-three thousand miles later, this Mopar retains it’s originality.

Rumble At The Creek Presented By Cruzerz In Murrells Inlet

Registration for the show was free and the turnout had over sixty vehicles sign up the day of the event. Even with bands of thunderstorms moving through the area the show still had hot rods rolling in. The oldest car in attendance, made in 1918 by the Dodge Brothers, cruised down from Wilmington, North Carolina, hitting some rain along the way.

Cherrydale Motorsports hosted a cruise-in at Chick-Fil-A in Greer, SC on June6, 2009. The weather was excellent and the participation was fantastic.

Run to the Sun XXI Draws Hot Rods to Myrtle Beach, SC

Run to the Sun XXI returned to the Waccamaw Factory Shoppes in 2009. In 2008 the Pee Dee Street Rodders hosted the event at Hard Rock Park and brought it back to the mall parking lot this year where it had been for many years.

Vehicles from all over the southeast were in attendance and represented the styles and trends in hot rods and customs from several decades. With just two years under it’s belt, the Carolina Open Car Classic & Hot Rod Run has already become an annual classic.

“There aren’t enough younger people getting involved with street rods to take on the load and let us take a break for a while,” one of the gentlemen at the gate said. “We’ve been putting this show on for thirty-five years now, and it’s a lot of work.”
